Want to look great in holiday photos? Here are a few clever tricks…

With the advent of email and social media sites, you can be pretty sure that holiday photos of you and your friends will be popping up somewhere! Make a beautiful first impression with a few clever tricks that can have you looking pretty & poised in your next holiday photos:

1) Avoid shine! Nothing ruins a photo quite like a shiny nose or forehead. To prevent this common mishap from happening to you, keep blotting sheets and translucent powder on hand. These 2 little must haves can single handedly keep you shine-free throughout the course of the evening. Pay particular attention to the T-Zone – this is often the first place to show glaring shine in a photo.
We like: mark cheat sheet shine blotters and matte-nificent oil absorbing powder.

2) Strike the perfect pose. Create a slenderizing effect by slightly angling your body towards the camera, with one shoulder angled closest to the photographer. If it’s a full-length shot, keep the same upper body angle but stand with one foot in front of the other.

3) Look taller. If you’re petite and standing in a group, stand next to people who are similar in height or look for ways to balance out height by standing on a higher stair, sitting on the arm of a chair, etc. None in sight? Don’t worry – stand tall, shoulders back, and smile! Good posture and confidence can make all the difference.

4) Luscious lips make for a great smile. Add depth and dimension to your pout or smile by applying a hint of shimmering gloss to the center of your lower lip, then purse lips together to naturally blend slightly onto the centre of the upper lip.
Try: Avon Pro Luscious Pout Lip Color. This creamy lip color comes with a coordinated gloss and built-in mirror – great for on the go!

5) Keep your teeth lipstick-free. If you’re wearing dark lipstick, you’ll want to keep it off your teeth – another common photo foible. To do so, gently blot lips with a napkin. This will remove any excess from coming into contact with your teeth while still preserving your lip color.
